Fudge Brownies

Hi All!

Brownies were one of my favorite treats to make growing up. Though I have upgraded from the box brownies; I still like to keep it simple. These brownies are soft and chewy in the middle, and crisp around the edges just how I like them! I hope you enjoy making (and eating) these as much as I did.

Pro tips: They taste great with ice cream after the brownies have been slightly cooled. I keep the brownies in the refrigerator, but let them sit out for about 20 minutes, or until they reach room temperature before I eat the leftovers… that is if you can wait that long.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup of unsalted butter

  • 1/4 cup of vegetable oil

  • 12 ounces of semi sweet chocolate

  • 1/2 cup of sugar

  • 1 cup of brown sugar

  • 1 cup of all purpose flour

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 table spoon of vanilla abstract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease 9x9 inch pan. I like to use non-stick baking spray.

  2. In a medium heat-safe bowl combine room temperature butter, oil and chocolate. Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water. Stir occasionally, until the mixture is completely melted. Remove the mixture and let it cool slightly.

  3. Add the sugars to the chocolate mixture. Beat the eggs and gradually add them to the mixture. Mix the batter well, before adding in the vanilla.

  4. Add the flour gradually, and mix well. This step requires a little elbow grease (if you are stirring by hand). Mix until all of the ingredients are well blended and there are no flour pockets.

  5. Pour the mixture into the greased pan. Bake for about 20 - 27 minutes, until the top is a flakey brown. I personally like to check on them at 20 minutes, and add more time as needed. Let the brownies cool before serving.

Happy Baking,

Marissa
